Safer Food Better Business (SFBB) Coaches
Location Initially business premises in east London Olympic boroughs. Locations as mentioned are Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Greenwich.
Hours Flexible/sessional
An exciting opportunity has arisen for food law enforcement officers working in local authorities to deliver SFBB coaching to food businesses as part of the London SFBB Olympic project.
The project has been designed to help catering businesses in the Olympic host and event boroughs comply with the law and has a focus on “not broadly compliant” businesses. This project is part of a suite of interventions being used by local authorities in this area and we see this work as a key part of helping our businesses improve. We are delighted therefore to offer these opportunities to help us meet our targets.
We are looking for:
EHRB registered Environmental Health Officers (or registered holders of the Higher Certificate in Food Premises Inspection) who are currently able to undertake the full range of food safety duties including food law enforcement.
You should note that you are not expected to take enforcement action as part of the project, but you will be working with businesses which are “not broadly compliant” and so you will need to have experience of working in this area.
You will have:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to deal with customers/clients in a responsive sympathetic manner
• Experience of working in a diverse community and an awareness of issues faced by small businesses
• Experience of coaching SFBB in food businesses and will ideally have undergone the Highfield Training already.
