Our Client a Northwest Authority is seekin to employ a Health and Safety officer on a part-time basis for a period of 12 months.
The Main Roles and Responsibilities will be :
- Health and Safety inspections in accordance with LAC 67/3 risk rating systems and in accordance with the HSC strategic target areas such as FIT-3 (approximately 100 premises).
- Health and Safety Revisits and subsequent follow-up visits to secure compliance on issues detailed from formal inspections.
- Investigation of workplace health and safety complaints in line with Barrow Borough Council policy and procedures.
- Advisory Visits to inform business of legal requirements.
- Service of Improvement and Prohibition Notices arising from Inspections, Revisits, Complaints, Accident Investigations and Asbestos visits.
- Specialist Asbestos Visits (ASB6) to monitor compliance with licence and legal requirements.
- To provide shadowing of Trainee Inspectors/Officers to assist in the completion of practical training and authorisation of competency matrix.
- To provide internal training on a practical level to existing Inspectors and Officers enforcing health, safety and welfare standards at work. For example, this may include; practical accident investigation techniques/scenarios, practical PACE scenario training, confidence building skills for challenging interventions, Inspector mentoring and shadow training visits for example.
The position is for 2 days per week for 47 weeks.
