The London Borough of Ealing is seeking to employ a Health and Safety Officer for a period of 4 months.

The main purpose of the position is

  • To undertake site visits to businesses across the council and undertake and reactive risk assessments in accordance with recognized processes and procedures.
  • To undertake all preparation and report writing required. Candidate Profile · At least one year’s experience undertaking Inspection for Food Hygiene, Food Standards and Health and Safety.

Candidate Requirements:

  •  Either Qualified Environmental Health Office OR · A Higher Certificate of the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board OR · Equivalent qualification recognized by the Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) · IT skills and report writing ability ·
  • Clean driving licence ·
  • Thorough knowledge of Department of Health Codes of Practice, Food and Health & Safety Legislation, Industry Food Guides and LACOTS guidance Minimum Health and & Safety Knowledge Required Diploma issues by the Institute of Occupational Health & Safety or NVQ Level 4 in Health & Safety Must be aware of basic safe working practices.
  • Personal Protective Equipment N/A. Suitable clothing will be provided by the Council ( i.e.: white coat, gloves etc.)
